Former RCA and Mercury Records recording country artist, Leon Everette, returns home to Aiken to debut his newest patriotic hit, "United States of America" Released Sept. 21, 2010.  Coming out of retirement, Leon had; 3 number 1's, 11 top 10 songs, 25 top 100 songs on 8 studio albums including his biggest hits, "Hurricane," "Give Me What You Think Is Fair,"  "Giving Up Easy" and "Til A Tear Becomes A Rose."   You may remember Leon from the TV shows,  'Grand Ole Opry', 'He Haw' and Houston Knights.
 

To Leon's credits, he is a Viet Nam Vet, was a 'Grammy Nominee' and 'Male Vocalist Of The Year' with numerous other awards.
 

This song calls Americans to come together.  It is not about the 'right' or the 'left'.  It is about 'We The People' those that make up the "United States of America".    The words, the beat, stay with you.  It is hard to put this song in a category, you'll find Americana in this song.  It's a taste of;  Country,  Rock,  Blues, and Spiritual with it's Patriotic Call!

A true modern day 'Patriotic Hymn for all!     This is perhaps Leon Everette's greatest hit ever!  


Composer, Mike Stewart, A native of Aiken, S.C. was born with a microphone  in his hand, moving like his two heroes Elvis Presley and James Brown.  He began entertaining as a professional in a VFW between Aiken and New Ellenton S.C.  It must have had a big influence on him when you hear his new hit song "United States Of America" written for and recorded by country music legend Leon Everette.

Mike spent 20 Years in the Music Business in Nashville Tennessee. During that period of time Mike wrote a # 1 Song for "Ronnie Milsap" and "The Pointer Sisters", and was contracted by  Quincy Jones to write for the great "Michael Jackson".    Mike produced National Radio and T.V. Commercials with at least 60 Major Recording Artist like Alan Jackson, Marty Stuart, Travis Tritt, The Judds, Hank Williams Jr., Vince Gill, Dobie Grey, Greg Allman and other greats like Jerry Lee Lewis, and Carl Perkins.
